“Tell Me A Story”
When I began writing BEYOND THE BONEYARD, I imagined a farm with a walnut grove, a creek, tobacco fields, and an apple orchard. I often ask my sister, Nancy, who is an artist, to read my work in progress, but never for this story. One day she sent me the picture above. It was the Abbott farm. How did she know the setting for this novel? Neither of us can explain it, but it inspires me to tell Flora Abbott's story.
